Biography
Felicia Jackson has always had an interest in broadcast and communications since a young age. She grew up idolizing the local news anchors in the greater Philadelphia area of Glassboro, New Jersey. Seeing how big of a role that news media played in reporting important information to the daily lives of its viewers. This sparked her interest in the field.
During her high school years at Glassboro High School Felicia was heavily involved in the television production program that produced a weekly news show surrounding the events at school and the community. There she learned the basics of TV production. Here she gained experience in producing, directing, editing, and operating the camera. During her senior year she was responsible for producing the school’s daily morning announcements broadcast.
At The Pennsylvania State University Felicia expanded her knowledge of broadcast journalism. During her time in the College of Communication enhanced her writing and reporting skill set. Gaining knowledge of how to edit footage Final Cut Pro and advanced camera operating.
While interning Fox 5 in Washington DC she gained in depth experience of working in a Top 10 market newsroom. Here she worked alongside reporters and anchors learning the ins and outs in at Top 10 market newsroom. She went out on assignments with reporters gathering stories and interviews to expand her experience and portfolio. Her ultimate goal is to become a lead reporter/anchor in a top 5 market.
