• Internship with FOX 5 in Washington DC (Summer 2013)
I worked alongside reporters and anchors learning the functions of a newsroom and how stories are developed from beginning to end. I went out on assignments with reporters gathering stories and interviewing people for stories that I was allowed to develop and use for my own personal packages for my reel.I gained experience working in a top 10 market newsroom on breaking news, hard news and special interest pieces.
• Internship with Penn State’s Athletics/BIG 10 Network (Fall 2011)
I worked with producers and directors of PSU Athletics, ESPN, and BIG 10 shooting live audio and video for the BIG 10 Network. Shooting action footage of the games with handheld cameras as well as stationary cameras that were streaming live to BIG 10’s StudentU website. I’ve worked in the media box running our visual graphics, and aiding other members of the media such as ComRadio anchors, bloggers for GoPSUSports.com, and employees of BIG 10 located throughout different parts of the U.S. Also setting up all of the camera and audio equipment prior to game time and taking it all down.
• Radio Broadcast (Featured reporter and producer) (Summer 2012)
I was in charge of finding my story, interviewing, working with audio equipment, recording my own voice, and putting that all together for my complete work.Responsible for find stories for other writers, arranging stories, and directing the newscast. Reading all of the written work by my classmates, as well as breaking for commercial and following direction of my producers and my executive producer in a live broadcast.
• Journalist for Diversity (Fall 2011- present)
Brainstorm and develop original ideas of stories to cover about minority focused news on campus in conjunction with Penn State’s College of Communications Office of Multicultural Affairs. Working alongside other students to write the pieces or film them.
• Co-Director and Anchor with GHS TV Tech program (2006-2008)
I was responsible for scheduling student anchors, going over scripts, editing of stories. Responsible for the overall outcome of the show.

•Communications 360:Radio Broadcast
This course focuses on radio broadcasting with a live broadcast at the end of each class. Students get an opportunity as lead anchor, producer, and lead feature on a rotating schedule. We were instructed on terms commonly used in radio broadcasting,shown how to work audio. Also how to find, write, interview, and record our own original stories.
•Intercultural Communications
The course breaks down the science of communication, exploring theories and learning how to apply them to become a more effective communicator. How common miscommunications are and how to avoid them in everyday life, as well as in professional settings.
I accepted a Teaching Assistantship in this course after it was complete.
•Communications 260W: News Writing
In this class the technical style of news writing is learned, how to write many different kinds of pieces. I learned how to gather useful information to put in my articles, as well as ethical issues in media.
•CAS 100A: Speech
I learned how to deliver many different messages, how to understand an audience, and communicate to them effectively. Understanding how to convey and receive information between a single speaker and a larger audience.
